Dear list,
after installing latest devel release (from 1.9.48 to 1.9.89), I have found that a PDF/A-3a file with a digital signature that uses the standard Courier font isn’t embedded. This seems to violate Rule 6.2.11.4-1.
Sorry for the stupid question, but does Rule 6.2.11.4-1 apply to the Adobe standard fonts?
Many thanks for your help,
Pablo
Dear Pablo,
Yes, Rule 6.2.11.4-1 applies to all fonts which are used for rendering. Adobe standard fonts are not exempt from this rule. However, the fonts that are used solely in rendering more 3 (invisible), or just present in the document resources but not used anywhere in the page are exempt from this rule.
Don't hesitate to create a GitHub issue or send your file to this mailing list, if you think veraPDF generates an incorrect validation result / report.
Best regards, Boris

Dear Boris,
many thanks for your fast reply.
Since I don’t have access to the PDF/A-2 or PDF/A-3, I don’t know what is normative or not.
Although it requires changes, I see the rule makes sense. Acrobat avoids this by embedding Myriad Pro.
Many thanks for your help,
Pablo
